(Bangor, Maine) – Rosscare is proud to recognize and thank the residents, staff, and volunteers of our assisted living facilities as we celebrate National Assisted Living Week, which begins on September 13 and continues through
September 19, 2009.
The National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) unveiled the theme of this year’s National Assisted Living Week as “Traditions of the Heart.” To pay tribute to this theme, Rosscare facilities honor the special connection between staff and residents. Each and every day the staff at Rosscare assisted living facilities allow our residents to live healthy, independent lives, but with the security of knowing a warm helping hand is there if they should need it.
National Assisted Living Week was established by NCAL in 1995 to bring together the residents, their families, employees, and volunteers to celebrate residents and the services provided in assisted living residences. To celebrate Assisted Living Week, many of our residences are planning social activities. Ross Manor is planning to host a Country Crafters and Farm Day on Friday, September 18. Dirigo Pines residents on September 16 will be invited to pick apples at a local orchard and will be hosting small celebrations throughout the week at their facility. At Colonial Health Care, the facility will be having a BBQ for staff and residents, and the residents will also go out to the local ice cream shop for a special treat during the week.
Rosscare provides quality assisted living through its facilities throughout the Bangor region: The Sylvia Ross Home in Bangor; Dirigo Pines, in Orono; and, in partnership with First Atlantic, Colonial Health Care, in Lincoln and Ross Manor, in Bangor.
Rosscare is a member of EMHS. Every day Rosscare is fulfilling the wishes of Sylvia Ross by providing seniors in the greater Bangor region with services that help promote independence and the ability to age in place. By collaborating with other agencies and organizations in the area, Rosscare is able to offer area seniors unique opportunities that compliment a healthy and fulfilling life.
